6. “of”와 같이 붙어 다니는 “the”를 기억하기
Most of, some of 처럼 전치사 “of”와 명사를 연결 할 때 반드시 “the” 를 적어야 합니다. The 대신에 my, these 같은 소유격을 적어도 됩니다.
When we got to the theater, most of the seats were empty.
“most of” 와 “most” 구분해 볼까요? Most만 쓰일 때는 the를 붙이지 않습니다. “most+복수명사” 로 씁니다. Most of Koreans like Kimchi -> Most Koreans like Kimchi
7. “the + 명사”는 대명사 “it”으로
일반적으로, 대명사 that의 의미하는 것은 ‘저기에 있는 그것(that one over there)’이란 뜻입니다. “it”은 이미 언급한 그것(the X that you mentioned earlier”뜻입니다. 그래서, 앞서 언급한 “the +명사”는 대명사 it으로 적어야 합니다.
I need my book, but I left that at home. ->I need my book, but I left it at home.
8. “ a + 명사”는 대명사 “one” 으로
“it”은 “the+명사”입니다. 그럼”a/an +명사”는 뭘 까요? 바로 “one”입니다.
Those books look really good. I think I’ll but it -> Those books really good. I think I’ll buy one.
9. “my another”이란 말은 없습니다.
보통”나의 다른 친구”라는 말을 My another friend 라고 말하기 쉬운데, 이런 말은 없습니다.
My another friend is from Mexico. -> Another friend of mine is from Mexico. / Another one of my friends is from Mexico.
10. “some” 보다는 “a/an”을 사용할 것
잘 모르는 무언가를 이야기할 때 보통 some~~~ 이렇게 말하기 쉬운데, 이런 경우 영작에서 some 대신에 “ a/an을 사용해야 합니다.
This is some problem in my country. -> This is a problem in my country.
